HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

Today is my lovely mothers birthday!

Here is some of the email I sent her for her birthday:

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. ~Honoré de Balzac

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. ~Sophia Loren, Women and Beauty

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.
-- Washington Irving

You were always up front and honest with me.  In my opinion, I had the best role models for parents.  I am proud to say you are my mom.  I remember all those parenting books you were constantly reading.  I remember those crazy fights we had in my highschool years.  I remember all the late night and long phone calls we always had when I was in college.  I remember when I would call you and tell you I was home to my apartment...even at 2 am sometimes....I could have lied but never did, because you were my mom and somehow I thought you would know.  I remember the night I called you after Ethan and I had our first date...I wonder if you were thinking at that moment, oh no, this is the one.  I remember when you thought Ethan was too good to be true...you probably gave him as hard of a time as you gave dad when yall first dated.  I remember when I called you to tell you Ethan proposed!  I remember all the wonderful memories we made together wedding planning, the best times of my life.  I remember the wedding day...I couldn't wait till you got to the hair shop. I remember when you came to the church on the wedding day, you had just gotten there from getting your hair done...I was already in my dress...I wonder what you were thinking....oh-my-gosh...the day is here.  I am so so so so thankful that God blessed me with you as my mom.  I love you so much!  I pray every day that I can only be half as good of a mom as you were to Dustin and I.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday today.  AND many MANY many more to come!

Here are the pictures we took on Saturday when everyone came over to celebrate..

What a sweet post! I feel the exact same way about my Mamma. I feel so very fortunate and blessed to have her because I know so many that no longer have their mothers, or a good relationship with the one that they have. Happy Wednesday!
