12 Days of Christmas.

I am linking up with Aly for a 12 days of Christmas spectacular!

Day 1: Christmas/Holiday traditions

For the past 2 years we have been married, for Christmas we have gone to both our parents houses each Christmas... Well not both on Christmas Day but, we spend time at each around Christmas day, I usually have to work and they live in different states, so we try and split up the time.

At Ethan's parents house, we usually draw names for gifts at Thanksgiving and on Christmas we exchange gifts with who ever we drew their name.  We also usually play NERTS.  This has become a very competitive game within the family.  We start off playing with our husband/wife or brother/sister, then when it gets crazy we will change partners and either draw names to make it interesting or pick a new partner.

At my parents house, we draw a number, my mom buys different cheap gifts throughout the year and we play dirty santa.  Last year mom bought board games and we had an interesting time fighting playing dirty santa.  Not sure what we are planning to play dirty santa with this year, but I am excited to find out!

I love Christmas Traditions.  I hope Ethan and I do well in starting family traditions with our own family.  I remember making cookies and milk for santa when we were little.  My favorite Christmas memory from my childhood was mom and dad buying a new Christmas tree ornament each year.  My mom would usually by the Hallmark ornaments...when we got older she would take us with her and let us pick them out.  My ornament was always really girly and my brothers would almost always have something to do with baseball or dogs.

This was our first Christmas ornament as a married couple.

We got this our first Christmas married too! It a T for our last name!

This is the one we got this year from the Christmas Store.

This is Emma's first Christmas ornament.  Isn't it just the cutest?!

This was our first Christmas ... we love our stockings!

Ethan and I a couple of years ago.

My sister in law, Camille and I with our nephews a couple of years ago.  We made sugar cookies with the boys this year...it was the most fun! I hope we can do it again this year!

What traditions do you and your family have? I would love to hear about them.

Love the ornament tradition! :) I hope to have that with my future hubby!

And I love where you hang your stockings - so cute and different from putting on a mantle or next to the fireplace! Cute!

Thanks for linking up!! So excited!

You know, I never did special ornaments for my kids every year and now I'm sorry I did. But... one day the grandkids will come and then I will unleash the power of the spoils! I am going to be an AWESOME grandma!
