Extravagant Provision

The sermon was over the extravagant provision God has given us.  What follows is a compiled outline of my notes and the sermon notes from our pastor.  This sermon really hit me and I felt like I need to document it in my blog.

Romans 5:17-  "God's abundant provision"

-Humans are made of extravagant provision...all the intricate and amazing things that make up the human life is from God's extravagant provision.

- God knows the deepest darkest part of our soul... And he STILL loves us!

- Jesus took away the punishment we would have brought on ourselves.

- God gave his son! Because he loves us!

  • Authority
Matthew 8:5-13
"Jesus was astonished!"

Jesus showed us what we will be capable of after he died on the cross. The centurion gave us an example of the responsibility we have.

God has given us remarkable authority!

  1. Authority over sin- Romans 6;14
  2. Authority over sickness & disease- Matthew 10:1
  3. Authority over the satanic kingdom- Luke 10:19
  4. Authority over our carnal nature- Romans 6:6
  5. Authority to make disciples of all nations- Matthew 28:18-19
*'Jesus will ask us about how we did on our assignment and authority and responsibility.

- if you have everything you need to do something... why must you refuse to do it??

-if you accept the authority but reject responsibility ... Then we forfeit the authority or give away the authority.

  1. The basis of our authority
  • The blood of Jesus
    • Hebrews 9:12-15
    •  Romans 3:25
    • Hebrews 2:17

God desires good things for us. He loves us!

If that is true he should be invited into every aspect of our lives!   He will make it  all better!

B. The Passover Lamb
Exodus 12:21-23

- the benefit only came when the blood was applied to the door. Not because of birthright.
- it was only enough if you did all that was required, not any less!!
- how probable was it that everyone complied?

I want to cooperate!  Don't you?

I got shellac'd once again.. I'm loving this french manicure this time.

Beautiful sunset as I was driving into church Thursday night.

my co-worker and friend, Ginger went with me to an antique shop one of our patients owns.  We had so much fun exploring all of the old stuff.

Well, maybe too much fun! :)

Beautiful sunset Saturday night.

We found Emma a life jacket!! Ha! She is ready for summer!

Despite me needing to do lots around the house and wanting to stay indoors all weekend to get it all done, I had a great time out and about doing things this weekend.  I had the best of both worlds and got lots of cleaning done as well as had fun too!  Today, Ethan and I went bike riding on a different greenway in our city.  We had a blast.  I am so glad we get to have fun like this together.  So blessed with such a sweet husband.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun and exciting?!
