This weekend was a pretty easy going one.
I like those nice slow days where we just relax and have fun at the same time.
Friday night we planned on hanging out with Ethan's brother, Evan. Well, with an unexpected but pleasant visit from my brother, Dustin. The boys just went out on our deck and got to hang out while smoking some cigars (Ethan's favorite pastime). I was happy to relax with some Plum wine and the TV!!
Saturday I
Here is my final piece. I think I may hang it in the spare bedroom. I'm trying to mix grey's and yellow's in there, and this has some yellow in it.
The whole group here...I am on the bottom row, the birthday girl, Amber is on my right and her wonderful sister and my friend, Amy is on my left.
When I got home from painting I got to get some stuff done around the house. Ethan started re-staining our coffee table and side table. He stained it in the winter, and the stain didn't set very well because of the cold weather. And being the perfectionist that he is, back at sanding and staining he goes. I also got to take a cat nap on this Saturday afternoon, with nothing but time on my hands.
Since we were in relax mode we went to dinner at Chuy's. {our fav} This was after we got home. We actually used the timer on the DSLR for this picture, and I think it turned out quite well! I edited it a smidge with Picnik...not sure if I like it yet, just thinking it might look a little orangy? What do you think?
Sunday we finished the to-do list!! I washed the new sheets we bought and made the bed. FYI about the sheets... Ethan's work was doing a work out incentive and if you walked so many miles in a set amt of time you get $$ on target gift cards. He got one of his on Friday and we went to Target and got some 600 thread count sheets for FREE!! :)
A picture of the bed and the new sheet set coming soon! I need to get some throw pillows on there now. Ethan wont let me buy any so, I think I am going to make some pillow covers and use some other pillows I have laying around the house. I have been searching DIY pillow's on Pinterest like crazy!
We also went to see Harry Potter!!!! Finally! It was as good as I thought it would be!
